Projects

In the framework of the European STARTS4Water residencies program, artist Anna Ridler was selected for the residency Water Capitalism. This highly collaborative residency is hosted by GLUON and LUCA School of Arts with the support of a regional network of industry partners, companies, knowledge centers and research institutions. Together with the partners and experts, Ridler will explore a more sustainable, inclusive and value driven water management combining expertise in blockchain, water management, philosophy, etc.

Anna Ridler (UK) is an artist and researcher who works with systems of knowledge and how technologies are created in order to better understand the world. She is particularly interested in ideas around measurement and quantification and how this relates to the natural world. Her process often involves working with collections of information or data, particularly data sets, exploring how they are created in order to better understand society and the world.

This residency is hosted by GLUON and LUCA School with the support of Farys, De Watergroep, Antea Group, North Sea Port, Smappee, Snowball, Timelab, Vlakwa and VITO. The result of the residency will be shown in Bozar – Centre for Fine Arts (Brussels) during the STARTS4Water exhibition in Fall 2022.

This project has received funding from STARTS (Science, Technology & the Arts), an initiative of the European Commission, launched under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. Its purpose is to support collaborations between artists, scientists, engineers and researchers to develop more creative, inclusive and sustainable technologies.
