We invite you for a collective workshop where we will explore our relationship with the Canal running through Brussels: is it a canal, a river, a dehumanizing infrastructure or a living territory? Through history, words, engraving and weaving, we will reflect on how urbanization and industrialization have made invisible the river that still flows far from its first sources. Two days of workshops will be given on the boat, of which one we will be driving on the canal. 

During the first weekend we will work with the linocut technique to rename and represent our ways of inhabiting and perceiving the environment through symbols. The second weekend, from the practice of collective weaving, we will create a visual conversation between the symbols created, connecting the fragmented.

Inspired by the vision of Buen Vivir, this workshop is an invitation to see the canal not as something individual but as part of an interconnected body, wounded but still alive.

*If you wish, you can attend all three dates: linen, weaving, and screening.
