Genetic engineering, modifying existing genes or introducing new genes into an organism, are techniques with far-reaching consequences. Can this technology solve the imminent food shortage, or can it lead to designer babies and scary creatures? This workshop provides a brief introduction to the history, dangers and challenges of this technology. Using a mobile Bento Lab or Gel System, youngsters can visualize, analyze and copy their own DNA. This provides a deeper insight into the inner structure of life.
