Cities Lab

Prototypes for a more sustainable capital

Smart Cities / Coding / Prototyping

During the Smart Cities Lab, from 2 to 7 november, we develop digital prototypes for a more sustainable city. We actively search for innovative solutions in the field of mobility, economy, ecology and social welfare. We ask ourselves how to make Brussels more intelligent through gamification, think musical steps in the metro or a trash can that lights up when you throw waste in it. In the development of your project, you will use 3D printers, laser cutters and Arduinos with the guidance of an artist, ICT experts and students. The results will later be exhibited in Brussels and during festivals. Examples of realised projects are intelligent bus stops that encourage people to interact and pedestrian lights that adapt to rainy weather.
