The Gluon Labs are exciting weeklong workshops during the school vacations for young people ages 14 to 18, in which we make objects, protoypes and art with technology and biology.
During the Bio Lab, we’ll work together in a real laboratory. We’ll research bacteria on our smartphone and in the park. Then we’ll learn how to grow the bacteria and how to count them. With a microscope, we’ll take a closer look at them, give them color, or film how they change form when they’re given different nutrients. Further, we’ll make drawings with colored bacteria on a homemade growth medium, and we’ll try to light up a dark room with glowing bacteria.
Upcoming session: 9-13 April 2018 in the Open Biolab in Jette & Exposition on 14 April 2018 at Gluon!
During the Fab Lab, we’ll work together with artists and technologists to redesign public spaces and create alternative meeting places for Brussels to help bring people together. In the Fablab of the Erasmushogeschool, we’ll realize our ideas with laser cutters, 3D printers, Arduino, virtual reality, and more.
Upcoming session: 2-7 July 2018 in the Fablab of Erasmushogeschool Brussel
